We host a variety of events for members and external parties. Details of scheduled member events are located inside the members’ portal.

Education and CPD

Quality education and training courses form a central part of our approach to ensuring our iNEDs are equipped to be the best skilled and most up to date in the UK. The Association is developing a market leading modular, post graduate qualification to acknowledge the increasing complexity of doing business within the UK and the risk faced by directors. This course is being developed in discussion with our members in order to tailor it specifically to member needs, being originally based upon collaborative content developed with the Business School of a major UK University.

We also offer half and full day continuing professional development (“CPD”) courses tailored to the risks in different sectors of business within the UK.

Included within our standard offering for members is an element of face to face mentoring, at no additional cost. We aim to offer, on average, 50 sessions of 45 minutes duration each month on a first-come-first-served basis.

AiNED members receive discounts on all of our courses, as well as priority booking. Some of our courses are unavailable to the general public, being exclusively for members. Networking events are generally free to attend for members.

Thought leadership – Round table

Hear from Tim Prizeman, PR specialist and author of the acclaimed book “The Thought Leadership Manual” about how to increase your chances of being selected for an iNED role by becoming known as an expert in your chosen field.

This interactive session will draw out the key elements of building your own personal brand and be illustrated with examples by Tim, the owner of the award winning Kelso PR agency, who has many years of experience as a public relations advisor, brand builder and thought leadership agency.

Followed by networking drinks.

The Golden Ticket – Masterclass in how to secure your first iNED appointment.

A 90 minute, intensive Masterclass lead by an experienced iNED who has held many appointments. Understand the key skills you must exhibit to be considered for selection, how to structure your CV, the selection criteria used by search firms, personal branding, thought leadership etc. etc. Maximum number of attendees: 6
